Customer Spotlight:
Texan Cafe & Pie Shop
For decades, Texan Cafe & Pie Shop has been serving comfort and classic Texas hospitality, one homemade dish at a time. With 30 years of history in Hutto and a newer location in Taylor, the cafe has become a familiar gathering place for both locals and visitors.
The current owners’ connection to the Texan began long before they purchased the business. “We are the 3rd owner of the Texan, but were customers over 10 years before we bought the cafe,” they shared.
At the heart of Texan Cafe & Pie Shop is its people, both the guests who walk through the doors and the communities that surround it. From longtime regulars to first‑time visitors, the cafe thrives on daily interactions, shared conversations, and the joy that comes from a great meal or slice of pie.
When the owners began considering expansion into Taylor, Frontier Bank became a trusted partner in the process. “When we were considering opening Taylor, Marcos Gonzales was invaluable with his advice and guidance on how to structure our funding for the cafe.” Today, that relationship continues to be built on trust, accessibility, and genuine care. Frontier Bank is proud to support Texan Cafe & Pie Shop as they continue growing thoughtfully while staying true to the traditions and community connections that have defined the cafe for generations.

Community Highlight:
We were honored to present at Mt. Zion Church’s Silver Soldiers Ministry on the critical topic of Elder Financial Abuse Prevention. Our team shared valuable insights on recognizing and preventing financial exploitation, which can take many forms including physical, psychological, emotional abuse, neglect, and abandonment.
Some key takeaways:
- Financial exploitation is a serious form of elder abuse that often goes unreported
- Protect yourself online by being cautious with what you share
- Be wary of friend requests, even from people you think you know
- Avoid clicking links or downloading video clips that may contain malicious software
- Watch for fake messages that appear to be from friends or family
At Frontier Bank, we’re committed to protecting our senior community members. If you’d like more information on this topic, please visit your local branch or give us a call!
